二圓

(二圓, 二圆)

The two perfect doctrines, a term of the Tiantai School, called [lang id =1028]今圓 (also [lang id =1028]開顯圓 and [lang id =1028]絶待圓) and [lang id =1028]昔圓 (also [lang id =1028]相待圓 ). [lang id =1028]今圓 is the present really perfect [lang id =1028]一實 doctrine arising from the Lotus Sūtra; [lang id =1028]昔圓 is the older, or [lang id =1028]相待 comparatively speaking perfect doctrine of the pre-Lotus teaching, that of the [lang id =1028]藏, [lang id =1028]通, and [lang id =1028]別 schools; but the older was for limited salvation and not universal like the [lang id =1028]今圓; these two are also termed [lang id =1028]部圓 and [lang id =1028]教圓 . The Huayan school has a division of the two perfections into [lang id =1028]漸圓 gradual perfection and [lang id =1028]頓圓 immediate perfection.
